Social login is a form of single sign-on function using existing information from a social networking service (Facebook or Google) to sign into the platform instead of creating a new login account specifically. The process increases registration and minimises barriers to site entry by reducing the need for usernames and passwords by allowing prospects to authenticate using their existing social media identities and pre-verified user accounts.
